The Oscars have nothing on the fashion trends that hit the red carpet at the annual Metropolitan Art Gala which takes place in New York City.

Superstars & Heroes Come Out For Metropolitan Gala

The theme was "Superheroes" and there were many in the crowd. Not really, but with their costumes they could have been mistaken for superheroes. Last night was one of the biggest nights in fashion as the Metropolitan Art Gala held its annual bash in New York City.
Super friends George Clooney and Julia Roberts brought in the A-list crowd as co-chairs and Fashion icon Giorgio Armani was the honorary chair.

The Stars Go Cocktail For Met Gala

Last night the stars were out at the Metropolitan Opening Night Gala in New York City. The big fashion trend of the night was cocktail dresses. The girls who were sporting this looked happened to be Hollywood’s up and coming girls.
CW’s “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester looked stunning in a mustard colored tight knee length dress, while Emmy Rossum opted for a short black ruffled cocktail dress and Diane Kruger sported a fuchsia dress.

Bill Blass Brings Women Power To NYC

Bill Blass debuted his Fall 2008 collection at New York Fashion week. Designer Peter Som made his debut featuring masculine/feminine wear.
Som said that he had to look into the Blass history books to get his inspiration. There is no doubt that Som wanted to express women-power in his collection from trouser suits to sharp tuxedos.
